4/1/08 -Greenes Announce Major Changes for Gospel Singing Jubilee..

It's hard to believe that last year the Greenes celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Gospel Singing Jubilee. From small beginnings in the small mountain town of Boone, N.C. the Gospel Singing Jubilee has grown to one of, if not the largest outdoor Southern Gospel events in the country. Due to circumstances beyond their control, they were

forced to relocate the Jubilee indoors to the beautiful Holmes Center, located on the campus of Appalachian State University.

While being indoors certainly has its benefits, as we traveled across the country we heard countless fans tell us how they missed the "old" Gospel Singing Jubilee. They missed Granny's pinto beans, cornbread, and fried apple pies. Many planned their week long vacations around this event, enjoying the camaraderie, fellowship, and life-long friendships that were established. We even had some people miss guessing when it might rain, how long it would rain, and when the rain would stop. We learned that Southern Gospel music has some of the most loyal fans in the world. We also learned that many fans missed the ability to camp right next to the nightly concerts.

Well the Greenes paid attention, as we are happy to announce the relocation of the 26th Annual Gospel Singing Jubilee to the beautiful city of Marion, North Carolina. A small mountain community, their motto is "Where main street meets the mountains." Located in close proximity to Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, and Linville Caverns, Marion offers all the amenities of a mountain community, at a fraction of the cost of Boone.

The 26th Gospel Singing Jubilee's new home will be Rally Park, a 20 acre facility which is located next to Tom Johnson Camping Center in Marion, North Carolina. Rally Park offers a pavillion that can seat up to 5,000 people. They offer over 350 camping sites with 30amp power, water, and sewer taps for each site, as well as handicapped accessible bathouses. The park is located just a short distance off Interstate 40, and you have to go right by Wal-Mart to get there.

After hearing all the comments from our friends, along with experiencing first-hand the rising costs of travel, we've decided that by moving the Gospel Singing Jubilee to Rally Park, it will offer many benefits for Southern Gospel fans. The location is convenient and the facility has all the amenities that will make and extended stay enjoyable. Lodging conveniently located nearby is very reasonably priced. Add to this our Granny's homemade cooking and the phenomenal talent lined up for the Jubilee, this year will prove to be a memorable milestone in the Greenes ongoing ministry of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in music.

No advance tickets will be sold and no reservations are required for camping facilities. We have reserved the entire campground for the Gospel Singing Jubilee. Don't forget to cancel your hotel or camping accommodations in Boone if you have already made those plans.

Be sure and mark July 31 - August 2 on your 2008 calendar and plan on attending the 26th Annual Gospel Singing Jubilee at the new location, Rally Park, in Marion, North Carolina. To receive information about the Jubilee, call (888)238-6858 and we will mail you a brochure as soon as they are available. Hotel information will be included in the brochure.
